About the Event
Living (2022) is a British drama film directed by Oliver Hermanus and written by Kazuo Ishiguro, based on his 1997 novel of the same name. It stars Bill Nighy, Aimee Lou Wood, Alex Sharp, Tom Burke, and Paddy Considine.
The film is set in 1950s London and follows Mr. Williams (Nighy), a veteran civil servant who is slowly dying of cancer. He is a kind and gentle man, but he has lived a quiet and uneventful life. After meeting a young woman named Miss Harris (Wood), Mr. Williams begins to question his life choices and decides to make the most of the time he has left.
